Google announces a major decision

Recently, in order to encourage companies to sell products directly on Google, Google announced a major decision:
Businesses that join the Buy on Google shopping platform will no longer pay any commissions
At the same time, Google further opened its platform to third-party partners (starting with PayPal and Shopify), aiming to allow more sellers and products to enter, and further provide more options for businesses.
These changes will give all businesses, from small shops to national chains and online marketplaces, the best place to connect with their customers.
As more products and stores are discovered, shoppers will have more options to choose from, as well as the choice to buy directly on Google or opt to make a purchase on a business’s website.
Here's more about the policy:
● Zero commission, free entry into the shopping platform
To increase traffic to their website, companies can use traditional shopping ads, or enjoy the benefits of free traffic policies. They can also list their products on the Buy on Google shopping platform so that customers can buy them immediately when browsing the products.
Second, by eliminating commission fees on the Buy on Google shopping platform, Google is reducing the cost of doing business and making it easier for businesses of all sizes to sell on Google. In addition, Google will expand the pilot to all eligible sellers in the United States in the coming months.
● Join hands with third-party partners
Google understands that businesses want to be able to choose their preferred partners for services such as payment systems, order management, and inventory management.
Therefore, Google first opened its platform to PayPal and Shopify, which not only means that businesses that want to sell goods directly on the Buy on Google platform can get started faster and continue to use existing tools and services, but also means that shoppers can shop directly on Google's website. Alternatively, businesses that are not familiar with online business can choose the partner that best suits them from multiple options when registering for Google Merchant Center.
● Import your inventory in just a few clicks
To help businesses quickly list their products for sale on Google, Google has simplified its backend tools and made them compatible with widely used product templates, making it easier for businesses to integrate with existing processes. This means businesses can connect their inventory to sell directly on Google without reformatting the data.
Google has also added a new tool in the background that allows companies to extract product information (such as pictures, product specifications, etc.) from the existing database when listing products, without having to upload it separately.
● More products, more sellers, more choices
This year, Google has found that customer demand for small and medium-sized enterprise products has increased significantly. Therefore, in order to further help businesses sell products more easily on Google, Google plans to add a "small business" option in the Google shopping search bar, and will continue to improve this feature to help small businesses expand their online business.
It’s worth noting that all content will be launched in the United States first, with global promotion expected to be achieved later this year or in 2021.
